But here's where it falls short: nobody talks about what happens when this automated system accesses sensitive customer data, stores conversation history, or integrates with third-party AI services. Most businesses implement these systems without understanding that they've just created new attack vectors and compliance risks.

Layer 3: Audit-First Architecture

Every interaction gets logged with immutable audit trails. This isn't just for compliance—it's for building customer trust. When a customer asks "how did you know to send me this testimonial request?" you can provide a complete, transparent explanation.

The audit system tracks:

  • When and why each automation trigger fired
