This conventional wisdom exists because it's what data scientists understand and what AI platforms can easily measure. These metrics make sense in research environments where the goal is advancing the state of the art, not running a profitable business.
But here's the problem: I've seen AI projects with 95% accuracy that lost money and projects with 78% accuracy that generated millions in revenue. Step 3: Build Executive-Friendly Dashboards
The main dashboard shows only business metrics with clear dollar values attached. Technical metrics live in a separate "Health Check" section that technical teams can access but don't clutter the main view.
Step 4: Implement "Story-Driven" Reporting
Instead of presenting raw numbers, each report tells the story of how AI decisions led to business outcomes. I include specific examples of AI recommendations that drove revenue or prevented losses.
Step 5: Create Action-Oriented Insights
