Plus, the legal industry is notoriously inefficient and expensive, making it a prime target for "disruption."

Every legal tech startup I've worked with starts with this assumption: lawyers are just expensive pattern-matching machines that AI can replace. The venture capital money follows this logic too. I've seen firms raise millions based on demos that look impressive but fall apart under real-world legal complexity.

But here's where this thinking breaks down completely: legal work isn't just about finding patterns – it's about understanding context, consequences, and liability. When an AI makes a mistake in legal advice, someone can lose their house, their business, or their freedom.
