The conventional wisdom follows a predictable pattern:

This advice exists because it's true at a surface level. AI can absolutely increase output, reduce costs, and automate repetitive tasks. The technology works, the efficiency gains are real, and companies using AI well do have advantages.
But here's where the conventional wisdom falls short: it focuses entirely on what AI can do without considering what it can't do—or more importantly, what it slowly erodes while it's "helping" you.
The industry talks about AI risks in abstract terms: bias, job displacement, security concerns. These are real issues, but they miss the more immediate business risks that show up in the first 6-12 months of implementation. The risks that actually kill companies aren't dramatic—they're gradual and often invisible until significant damage is done.

Strategic Blindness
AI executes strategies efficiently but can't evaluate if those strategies are still relevant. You become very good at doing things that might not matter anymore.
