This advice exists because these are the services with the most documentation and community support. The tutorials make it look easy: "Just connect the API and start building!" But this approach has serious limitations.

Cache aggressively. Most AI use cases have repeating patterns. Smart caching can reduce your API costs by 70%+ without impacting quality.

Monitor costs obsessively. AI costs can spiral quickly. Set up alerts and usage limits before you start processing real traffic.

The goal isn't to build an AI company - it's to solve business problems efficiently. Sometimes that means using AI, and sometimes it means avoiding it entirely.
